The Charm Offensive is a four-piece rock band that has been playing clubs in Washington, D.C., Baltimore and Philadelphia for four years.
Singer, songwriter and guitarist Chris Lehmann is a veteran journalist who is co-editor of Book Forum, associate editor of The Baffler and a columnist for The Awl. Bassist Meg Guroff is features editor at AARP the Magazine, teaches non-fiction writing at the Johns Hopkins University in DC and is editor and publisher of Power Moby-Dick. Drummer Alex Daniels is a reporter in the Washington bureau of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. Guitarist Geordie Grindle does systems security at AOL.
The group plays sardonic pop and rock music. Over the years, members of The Charm Offensive have performed in a bunch of different bands including Church and State, The Fussbudgets, Julie Ocean, Severin, Swiz, The Teen Idles, Tone and Tyko.
